Articles that do NOT help you
Periodically I go and browse through one of the major article banks to see what’s being written on various topics, such as marketing. Recently, I came across this article: Marketing Without Selling by David Weeks.
It starts off okay and seems to be interesting. By the third paragraph the author starts to lose me. His spelling and punctuation starts to break down and by the 5th paragraph he’s lost me completely. I realize that this writer, who appears somewhat passionate about his subject, doesn’t have the skills to be an effective writer.
The article was not edited or proofread competently. Many of the articles in these banks are poorly written and even more poorly edited/proofread (if at all) and yet these are people professing to be “experts” and able to dish up advice?
There are mass distributed articles available that can help you with things like newsletters but you need to make sure that the author cares enough to present as an expert rather than merely profess to be an expert.
You can offer the most valuable information but if you don’t take the time to make sure you are presenting it properly it may pass unnoticed.
