I love design!
I keep drifting away from my heartfelt passion and forget how much I really do love working with page design. Fortunately, every time I get pulled back to it through an assignment I am forcibly reminded just how much I love doing this.
There is a sense of peace, contentment, and utter satisfaction that washes over me when I’m working on a page design project. I realized, last night, while working on a layout project for the Virtual Assistance Chamber of Commerce that creating several versions was not only a good thing for the client, it’s a good thing for me as the designer because I get to explore nuances of a design that I might otherwise ignore.
It helps that the colors of this enterprise’s logo are bright, spacious, and flavorful! It was like working with summer, the sherbet colors just demanding a contemporary light touch. I thoroughly enjoyed the process and I am very pleased with the result. Hopefully the founder of VACOC will be pleased as well.
It was a pleasure working for someone who understands that white space is a good thing! Too often I am directed to fill up the white space with text or graphics and very few people seem to understand that typography is a design element as well. Of course that could be because I’m drawn to type and typography and I find it easier to absorb content when I don’t feel that I’m drowning in it. White space is good for bringing in “air” to an otherwise claustrophobic area and for me, at least, that facilitates retention.
I wonder if I’m odd in that or the norm?

Yes, the VACOC is very pleased! (And that is an understatement.) You did an absolutely beautiful job with both our projects and I can’t thank you enough for your talent, professionalism and expertise.
