If you are working as a middle man (person) between a printer and designer, do yourself a huge favor: always get your pricing and ordering set and then let the printer and designer work out the format details. Doing so will simplify rather than complicate the process and oddly enough, there’s a very good chance that your designer doen’t much care what your pricing and document size negotiations involve.
I recently experienced a wealth of miscommunication due to two (not 1 but 2) middle persons, neither of which knew enough about graphic design or printing to convey the right information. Finally, when I was able to speak directly to the person handling the print job I was able to get the right job specs and then provide the correct settings and sizes.
Certainly one of those lessons learned for future reference.
Hope you had a great week!
